"Operated by the same people as the Grand America across the street", this "family favorite" has rooms that "run the gamut from top flight" in the tower to more "modest" and "charmingly run-down" in the lodge and motel sections; fans who "stay here again and again", however, overlook the "sterile surroundings" and nondescript food, and focus on the "reasonable pirces" and "dependable" service instead.

Loved the location and the staff was so great.
We didn't stay in the main tower and it looked a little dumpy from outside.

Loved the hotel, it was nice, clean and beautiful. The room service was great, huge breakfasts. We ended up splitting meals after the first day. Great location and safe parking.

We were there attending a wedding near by, it gave us away, time that was close and comfortable.
I really liked everything.

An upscale hotel with conference and event rooms if needed. I loved the swimming pool/exercise rooms. Everything was very nice and family friendly as well.

Always a pleasant place to stay great staff big rooms.
The hotel is older and some of the rooms are a bit dated.

This hotel is above average in service and quality, but a little dated. I would definitely return and recommend it anyway. Free parking which is unusual downtown. Little refrigerators are nice too.

I liked its ambiance, and I loved its restaurant.
There was none.

I plan to always stay at this hotel when I am in the Salt Lake area. It is in a central location and has all the amenities that I require of a hotel.

No complaints.

The lobby area is spacious, lots of wood and warm. My room was spacious with a small balcony looking north towards downtown. The bathroom also was spacious with a separate dressing area and a generous sized closet. There was also a good sized dresser, an HDTV, and a very comfortable bed.
